From the Pastor | A New Job

Updated: May 10, 2022

Most of you who are reading this will already know: I have announced that beginning July 1 I will be going on a personal leave of absence. Though this was a hard decision, I shared in my letter that I felt it was the right decision. Since that time I have been working hard to find a job and many of you have been curious about my job search.

I am pleased to announce that I have taken a new position at Knox College. Beginning July 5 I will be the Director of College Engagement in the Office of Advancement. I will be working with alumni, parents, the community, and other constituencies to help them to have a relationship with the college even when not a student and help the students develop relationships with alumni.

I will be also be volunteering with Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrie's church, (much as she did in Abingdon when she was on personal leave) and we will once again be able to worship as a family most weeks!

My family will be moving to our new home in Galesburg on May 31. It will be sad to say goodbye to you, in my pastoral role, but I am also excited to be staying in the area and look forward to continuing to see the people of Abingdon United Methodist Church in a personal role!

blessings,
