Rev. Scott Carnes
Rev. Scott Carnes arrived at Abingdon in Summer of 2019 and is quickly getting connected with the people of this church and the community that surrounds us. We are pleased to have Rev. Carnes and his family, here, in Abingdon and hope that everyone will make them feel welcome!
Rev. Carnes comes to Abingdon from Collinsville where he was the pastor at First United Methodist Church and his wife, Carolyn was the associate pastor in Belleville at Union United Methodist Church. They have Served several churches, both large and small, but have always been appointed by the bishop to separate churches.
Scott and Carrie met in Evanston while they were seminary students and were married just over a year later while Scott was serving his first church and Carrie completed her Master of Divinity degree. They have been married since August 2010 and have a son, Henry, and two terriers, Charlie and Jack.
They have said, often, that they are excited for ministry in Abingdon. It is a place that reminds Scott very much of Pittsfield where he grew up in Pike County!
Rev. Carnes' office schedule is to the right and he looks forward to sharing with the congregation through this blog site!
