This Lent we have several joint worship opportunities with the Disciples of Christ Church as we prepare our community for Easter!
Ash Wednesday Reverends Brown and Carnes will be offering a drop-in Ash service on Wednesday, March 2 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Disciples of Christ Church. There will be an Ash Wednesday service at 7:00pm that evening at Abingdon UMC.
Good Friday
From 9:00am-Noon on Good Friday, April 15, you can drop in at your convenience for a prayer path at AUMC. There will be a Good Friday worship service at 7:00pm that evening at the Disciples of Christ Church.
Each Sunday during Lent we will prepare ourselves for Easter with a six week journey:
March 6 - First Sunday of Lent Luke 4:1-13 - "Temptation" with Holy Communion
March 13 - Second Sunday of Lent Luke 13:31-35 - "The Time Will Come"
March 20 - Third Sunday of Lent Luke 13:1-9 - "We Can Produce Fruit"
March 27 - Fourth Sunday of Lent Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32 - "The Return"
April 3 - Fifth Sunday of Lent John 12:1-8 - "Take Time with Jesus"
with Holy Communion
April 10 - Palm Sunday Luke 19:28-40 - "Hosanna"
