The surgery on Bishop Beard’s left eye was successful and he is improving. It will take about 10 weeks for his eye to heal, and surgery for his right eye has been scheduled for October 28. He remains on schedule to return to active duty on January 1. The bishop and his wife, Melissa, wish to thank everyone for their prayers and other expressions of love and support.
